Four ways to make it yours

The right print.
For the right garment.

Every design and fabric is different. Here is where each of our garment printing methods works best.

01 / Detailed logos & full-colour artwork

DTF garment printing

Big colour. Fine detail. Plenty of possibilities.

Direct-to-film, usually called DTF, transfers your design from a printed film onto the garment using a heat press. It is a versatile choice for colourful logos, illustrations, gradients and designs that contain several colours.

DTF can suit both light and dark T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and workwear, including many cotton and blended fabrics. The print sits on the fabric, so the feel depends on how much of the design is filled with colour.

  • Multicolour company logos and detailed artwork
  • Chest prints, larger back designs and suitable sleeve positions
  • Branded staff clothing, club merchandise and event T-shirts

We check: very fine detail, small lettering, fabric finish and polyester dye migration before choosing the transfer.

02 / Names, numbers & bold lettering

Vinyl garment printing

Clean shapes. Strong impact.

Heat transfer vinyl, also known as HTV, is cut to the shape of your design and heat-applied to the garment. It is particularly useful for individual names, team numbers, simple logos and clear lettering.

A bold company name on the back of a hoodie or a player's number on a sports shirt can work beautifully in vinyl. We select the material for your fabric and discuss available colours and specialist finishes where suitable.

  • Staff names, player names and shirt numbers
  • Simple business logos and easy-to-read contact details
  • Personalised T-shirts, hoodies and suitable sports kit

We check: thin lines, tiny lettering, layered colours and stretch requirements. Complex photographic designs usually suit a full-colour method better.

03 / Light polyester & performance clothing

Dye sublimation printing

Colour that becomes part of the fabric.

Dye sublimation uses heat to transfer specialist ink into suitable polyester fibres. The colour becomes part of the fabric rather than a raised layer on top, giving a smooth finish that keeps the fabric's feel.

It is a strong option for colourful graphics, photographs and gradients on suitable white or light-coloured polyester T-shirts and performance garments. A high polyester content gives the clearest, most vibrant result.

  • White or light polyester T-shirts and sportswear
  • Colourful graphics, photographs and gradient artwork
  • A smooth finish without a separate transfer layer

We check: polyester content, garment colour and print access. Standard dye sublimation does not print white ink or give the same result on ordinary cotton or dark clothing. Print area and placement are confirmed with your quote.

04 / Full-colour print & cut designs

Eco solvent transfers

Printed in colour. Cut to your design.

Eco solvent garment transfers are printed onto a compatible printable heat transfer material, cut around the artwork and applied with a heat press. This combines full-colour graphics with a defined outer shape.

It can be a useful option for badge-style logos, bold promotional artwork and designs with a clear outline on suitable T-shirts, hoodies and workwear. We choose a textile transfer material that matches the garment and intended use.

  • Full-colour logos with a defined silhouette
  • Promotional and branded clothing
  • Bold designs on suitable light or dark garments

We check: the contour-cut outline, small separate elements, fabric compatibility and the feel of larger solid prints.

Artwork that prints clearly

Upload the best PDF, PNG or JPG you have through our quote form. Original vector artwork or a high-resolution image is preferable to a screenshot. If you have another file format, contact us and we will advise how to send it.

Include exact wording, logo colours and the print positions you want. Tell us about important brand colours so we can discuss what is achievable on your chosen fabric.

Care for your printed clothing

Follow the care instructions supplied with your order and the garment label, using the more cautious instructions where they differ. Turn clothing inside out, avoid ironing directly on a transfer and avoid harsh cleaning products.

Washing temperature, drying and first-wash timing depend on the garment and transfer material. We advise for the method used on your order.

Before you order

Garment printing FAQs.

Which method is best for my logo?

It depends on your artwork, garment fabric and print position. DTF often suits detailed full-colour designs, vinyl suits names and numbers, sublimation suits light polyester and eco solvent transfers suit defined print-and-cut designs. Send us your logo and we will advise.

Can you print on dark T-shirts and hoodies?

Yes, DTF, compatible heat transfer vinyl and suitable eco solvent transfer materials can be used on dark clothing. Standard dye sublimation is best suited to white or light polyester because it has no white ink. We check the garment and material before confirming the order.

Can you add different names or numbers to each garment?

Yes. Include a clear list of the names or numbers, with the size and colour of the garment for each person. Tell us the print position and spelling exactly as you want it to appear, and we will confirm the details and pricing.

Can I supply my own clothing for printing?

Contact us before buying or bringing in your garments. Send the brand, product code, fabric composition, colours and quantities so we can check suitability and discuss a printing-only quotation.

Do you accept small orders?

Tell us the quantity you need. We can assess small orders, staff top-ups and larger team runs, then confirm what is practical for your artwork and garments. Any minimum quantity and setup costs are stated in your quote.

How much does garment printing cost?

The price depends on the garment, quantity, artwork, printing method, print size and number of positions. Send those details for an accurate quote. We confirm garment costs, printing, any artwork or setup work, VAT and delivery where applicable before you order.

How quickly can you print my order?

Lead time depends on garment availability, artwork approval, quantity and the finish required. Include your deadline when enquiring and we will confirm a realistic completion date before the order goes ahead.

Can printing be added to hi-vis or specialist workwear?

Some garments can be personalised, but heat, coatings and required visible areas can limit the options. Tell us the garment specification and any workplace requirements. We check the product and proposed print area before recommending a finish.
